A bit OTT maybe

Well that last post may be a bit OTT - but you get the picture. When politicans say how well they are doing; how their investments have made a difference to schools; hospitals; crime. Just think for a moment. The politican is not putting their hand into their own pocket! Remember that.

Our taxes - remember not just income tax - pays for schools; hospitals; the police and even the salary of politicans! Now the purpose of this blog is to find examples of waste - by local, regional and national government, within the UK. For the timebeing we will not cover any EU projects. Only projects for which only UK elected politicans are responsible.

We are not anti-labour or anti-tory; we are not pro Lib-Dem or pro SNP or PC. All we seek to do is expose waste. We are talking about projects which do not have an end result; not what some will call loony projects.

To give an example: the Dome. Many people think it was a waste of money; however the rules of this blog are that it cannot be included as it did actually produce what it was meant to at the end of the project. However all the money spent on the Dome, since the 1st January 2002 can be included.

What we are talking about is the decision to spend millions on computer systems - which are then cancelled etc. We need your help to build examples.

If I Mug You...

One night, you are walking across a car park, you hear footsteps behind you. You near the breath of the person... you get pushed over; they take your wallet or purse.

But it's ok they are going to give all your money to the local hospital; so does that make it a crime?
